  If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet and clean place to stay at while visiting the Kenai Peninsula, then Bear Essentials Lodging is worth checking out. My mother and I have been repeat customers since 2014. We loved getting up in the morning and sipping coffee while watching wildlife from our private deck. We appreciated having access to our own groceries when we needed it. There is a fully equipped kitchen on site and also an outdoor grill to prepare any meats and fish while sitting around a fire in the evening. The owner, Ken Scofield, a talented Log Furniture Custom Builder, build Bear Essentials Lodging and the furniture inside the rooms himself. The beds are extremely comfortable. It was great having access to a warm shower without leaving the comfort of our own room. Ken has many many exciting stories to share with his customers about his life in Alaska. Although he is an extremely busy man who commutes back and forth from Wasilla and Anchor Point in the summer, he takes the time to talk to his customers. He made sure Mom and I were having a good time and were comfortable at his lodge. When he is not there, his caretakers make sure you are well taken care of.
